Tardy Policy
Theory is held from 8:30 am to 11:30 am Tuesday’s
and 8:30 am to 9:30 am on Wednesday’s and Thursday’s.
Evening theory is held from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Theory may last longer than the scheduled hour on
Wednesday or Thursday if special classes are scheduled.
The classroom door closes at 8:30 am or 3:00 pm and students must be in the classroom ready for class at that time.
If
the student is not in
class by 8:35 am or 3:05 pm due to special
circumstances and proper
procedure was followed, the
student must clock out but
will not receive a violation
warning. If proper procedure was NOT followed, the student must clock out and will receive
a violation warning.
Special
circumstances or emergencies
will be considered and dealt
with on a case-by-case basis.
All time missed will be subject
to the MAKE
UP HOURS POLICY. Documented
circumstances (doctor's
appointment, family emergency,
pre-arranged absences,
etc.) will not apply to
this rule. When notifying
the school of a late arrival
a specific time must be
given as to when the student
will be arriving for the
day. (“later” will
not be accepted as a valid
time).
Absent Policy
If student’s absences
exceed 140 hours of absences
for Cosmetology, 112 hours
for Barbering, 91 hours for
Manicuring, 119 hours for Esthetics+,
115 hours for Massage,
or 84 hours for Instructor,
enrollment will be terminated.
Please refer to the ATTENDANCE
POLICY.
If a day off is required
for any reason, a written
request is expected at least
two (2) business days in
advance and verification
may be required. No violation
will be given when the student
is sick and calls at least
one half hour before school
starts. (by 8:00 am or 2:30 pm) A message
may be left on the answering
system, as the time of the
call is recorded. Violations
will be given for the following
reasons: Failure to call
before 8:00 a.m. or 2:30 pm, leaving
school at any time other
than for lunch or at the
end of the day, without notifying
a staff member.
Absences
must be pre-excused, when
possible. If the student
is to be late or absent on
Friday or Saturday it MUST
be pre-excused, in writing,
and be approved by an instructor
or the school manager at
least one week in advance.
If sick on a Friday or Saturday,
a doctor’s
note must be provided upon
students return to school
or a violation warning will
be given.
