Theory may last longer than the scheduled hour on Wednesday or Thursday if special classes are scheduled. The classroom door closes at 8:30 am or 3:00 pm and students must be in the classroom ready for class at that time.

If the student is not in class by 8:35 am or 3:05 pm due to special circumstances and proper procedure was followed, the student must clock out but will not receive a violation warning. If proper procedure was NOT followed, the student must clock out and will receive a violation warning.

Special circumstances or emergencies will be considered and dealt with on a case-by-case basis. All time missed will be subject to the MAKE UP HOURS POLICY. Documented circumstances (doctor's appointment, family emergency, pre-arranged absences, etc.) will not apply to this rule. When notifying the school of a late arrival a specific time must be given as to when the student will be arriving for the day. (“later” will not be accepted as a valid time).

Absent Policy

If student’s absences exceed 140 hours of absences for Cosmetology, 112 hours for Barbering, 91 hours for Manicuring, 119 hours for Esthetics+, 115 hours for Massage, or 84 hours for Instructor, enrollment will be terminated.

Please refer to the ATTENDANCE POLICY.

If a day off is required for any reason, a written request is expected at least two (2) business days in advance and verification may be required. No violation will be given when the student is sick and calls at least one half hour before school starts. (by 8:00 am or 2:30 pm) A message may be left on the answering system, as the time of the call is recorded. Violations will be given for the following reasons: Failure to call before 8:00 a.m. or 2:30 pm, leaving school at any time other than for lunch or at the end of the day, without notifying a staff member.

Absences must be pre-excused, when possible. If the student is to be late or absent on Friday or Saturday it MUST be pre-excused, in writing, and be approved by an instructor or the school manager at least one week in advance. If sick on a Friday or Saturday, a doctor’s note must be provided upon students return to school or a violation warning will be given.
